Jk has distinctly come away from the concepts proposed by theosophists of karma and consciousness. He talks about there being a universal consciousness-one of the entire universe. He says on dying one looses ties with one's small consciousness and become one with this large entity. And to the extent that we have removed all the negativity of our consciousness and worked on ourselves to bring integrity within ourselves, we contribute positively towards this universal consciousness. He quotes how the hitlers, caesers, napoleons and so many of our politicians add to the negativity of this while a few good people elevate the same.
Personally, I am inclined to believe he is right. When one reads inspiring stories of the great beings that walked or are with us on this earth, one feels one's spirit (consciousness-inner being) uplifted. When one hears great music compositions, beautiful poetry, or a magnificent piece of invention, one senses this pure joy.
Freedom, JK says is freedom from our individual consciousness.
Sorrow- he says is the essense od loneliness. When one is sorrowful, one is completely alone facing that which causes us this sorrow. And if instead of fighting and trying to overcome the sorrow, we lived in it completely, accepting the pain/disappointment/ grief entirely- it disappears and in its absence Love arises.
Now JK dismisses all claims of what we ordinarily call love. He says when each one of us have so much competitiveness, jealousy, contempt, ambition . there is no real room for love.
Yet he does not define this word and does not elucidate (at least, not yet) on this four letter as Jk says ,much abused word, which no one really fathoms.
(To me, Love is complete acceptance of everything- the bad and the good- the state of complete non- activity. The perfect state of non-resistance. In that state one feels love to all- its not subject to qualities- because only positives are visible everywhere- only beauty. Its a state of high mental clarity and awareness- to be able to see beauty even in ugliness-requires great abilities of searching-being able to see the needle in the haystack of the nonsense that most people seem to think most of the time. Its not a mellifluous or superficial state-its a state of awareness of extreme purity, wherein not the smallest blemish of hatred can shadow the whiteness of the mental diaspora. Its the understanding of perfect harmony with every living being around you. Its the highest state that the consciousness can reach as a human This a state of no contempt, hatred, perfect peace and love for all. This cannot be reached instantly and requires ages of mental practice in inner harmlessness. We will be constantly challenged with adversities that test this inner state. Only through conquering all these tests that one can reach successfully to that higher realm. Conquering hatred requires understanding of how hatred is a form of violence- that by violence you cannot change the other-only by positive example and hope-by freedom and appreciation-by recognition and affection. Its a constant battle for the aspirer to conquer the evil in himself by the good- to see the method to untangle all the messes- Love is such a great notion. An effort of a whole lifetime is required to acquire even a day of 'being in love'.)
Each speech leads one to want to hear more, while somethings are becoming clearer, some concepts are somersaulting.
